Spring Beauty Bits

Spring Beauty Bits | Cate Renée

Finally spring has rolled around and although I'm not too sure its quite fully arrived just yet, the few bursts of sunshine sure make me excited for the warmer weather. Aside from the fact its now officially hay fever and magpie swooping season, I love spring and have recently had a shuffle around with my makeup and perfume. Gone are the days of the dark berry lip and wine coloured nail polish which are now packed away until next winter, and out with the bright colours and pastel shades - my favourite! So I've gathered my current collection of spring beauty bits and given them prime position in my makeup drawers ready to be adored over the next few months.

Starting off with bases I'm lightening it up with a bit of the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser to create an even surface and then going in with a touch of concealer covering up any dark circles or blemishes. As I've just come back from a long holiday in the sun you'd think I'd still have a tan, but sadly its faded and my new love of the Soap & Glory Solar Powder certainly comes to the rescue when wanting to add some warmth to my complexion. Along with that I've been adding a pop of the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Lovely Pink for some added colour and sheen.

I'm never one to shy away from glitter and I love to wear no matter if its day or night. My favourite glitter sticks are these beautifully creamy and pigmented cream eyeshadows from By Terry. The colour I'm particularly obsessing over is Frozen Quartz, a gorgeous champagne pink with shimmery golden undertones. For lips and nails I'm going totally bold with these choices. I've been changing up my usual nude lip for something a little more pink and have been reaching for the Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Moss in 16 during the day and L'Oreal Colour Riche Matte in VIP when I'm wanting something slightly brighter for an evening look. Nails wise this splash of Barry M pinky-purple polish in the shade Sugar Plum is just the right amount of colour pop for this season.

Lastly for fragrances you know I've been wearing the Zoella Beauty Sweet Inspirations Body Mist a lot lately but I tend to keep those warmer, more vanilla-ry scents for the winter months or special nights out. This classic fresh scent from Zoe's original core collection has become by daily go-to and the subtle citrus blend is just beautiful for the spring sunshine.
