Broken Doll Halloween Makeup

As Halloween is almost upon us and many of us scrambling to find last minute outfits, I thought I'd share with you my take on the broken doll makeup look. I don't actually have a matching outfit for this look but you could throw on any sort of girly, flouncy or frilly dress, and curl your hair into ringlets and add in a bow in to complete, but as for today I've just stuck to the makeup. So let's get stuck in!

Firstly I applied my base, a combination of NARS Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc and Revlon Colour Stay in Buff to create a somewhat thicker-than-your-average foundation. Going over the top, under the eyes, and around any redness or blemishes I've used my trusty Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory for a little brightness, and blotted it all with the Bourjois Healthy Balance Compact Powder in Vanilla. I also wanted to keep my cheeks looking fairly pink and plump, and for that I've popped on a little of MAC's Mineralize Blush in Dainty and the Revlon Blush Highlight Palette in Rose Glow.

Now you've got your base sorted, it's time for eyebrows. I've gone for fuller brows but still keeping them relatively natural... like a doll, and for this I've combed through the hairs and filled in the sparse areas with MAC's Charcoal Brown eyeshadow. As for eyes I couldn't resist the pink eyeshadow, something that only really gets brought out for costume makeup looks. I've picked out Benefit's Silky Powder Eyeshadow in Blushing Bride and applied all over the lid, and blended in a bit of Rimmel's Glam Eyes in Pink Crush into the crease. 

For eyeliner I've gone with the Maybelline Big Eyes Liner duo (white side) and lined my lid with a thick cat eye flick, and below my lower lashes. I also lined the inner upper lashes with a stock standard black kohl liner. Over the top I've gone for Maybelline HyperSharp Wing Liquid Liner to create a bigger-than-average eye socket and lash line, adding in (very poorly applied) individual lashes. Lastly a few coats of the Maybelline Lash Sensational and Pumped Up Colossal mascara to bring my upper lashes to life. And for lips, I've lined just outside my natural lip line with the Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencil in Minimalist and filled them in with the Colour Sensational Lipstick in Pink Me Up.

Now the fun part, adding in your "brokenness", and for this I pretty much freestyled it using the same liquid liner mentioned above, creating small black shapes, filling them in, and then branching off.
