The bedside table, usually a dumping ground for all the crap that doesn't have an actual home, or needs to be hidden when guests are over. Also, the home to many women's lingerie and odd sock collection. For me, my room is a little on the snug side for a beside table, with my desk and two sets of drawers taking up the majority of the space, but for most- including my sister's whose is pictured here- a little table full of magazines and essential beauty items resides next to the bed.
